Claudia is one of the best characters in this show. Shes so mature and wise, and she was the one who helped Rick and Lisa be together.

That is the one drawback to experiencing so many different types of anime over the years, you look back at a series that you remember fondly, like this one, and you realize that it actually wasn’t all that great. You loved it so much back then because you had nothing else to compare it against, so you couldn’t see the melodrama, cliches, and assorted contrivances that weigh this show down.

@Octane64 Except SW ST and a lot of other fiction still had personal communicators so Kirk uses his communicator for all his booty calls and Han has his comn-link. For a Japanese anime in a time when Cell phones were just coming out you think they’d have included them.

@bebito1a I couldn’t believe what a son of a *bleep* Rick was to Lisa. WHAT a COMPLETE jack*** of a man. He may be a great commander in combat with his air team, but he’s horrible as a man when he can’t distinguish between what is mere pretty wrapping (Minmei), and a true total package deal (Lisa). Maybe Capt. Hayes could’ve done better, but in the end she got what she wanted when Capt. Hunter finally, FINALLY wised up. What do you all think?

This episode is the most touching of the Robotech saga. As Rick acts like a jerk to Lisa, she decides to visit him on a rainy night. When she decides not to knock on Rick’s door, Claudia invites her to her home. She tells Lisa her relationship with Roy. Way more like cats and dogs, her perserverence paid off and their romance grew until his death. Rick realises that Lisa has given him clues that she loves him. At the end, they walk towards Rick’s home and drink tea on a rainy night.
