Well, that may or may not be true, but it’s unverifiable, so we can’t really have an meaningful discussion about it, or any potential results… it would be nice, however.
Warp theory and its research doesnt need to be an secret. It takes such advanced science that only an handful of countries could even think about possibly working on it… Afghanistan, for example, will NEVER build an warp-capeable ship.
The US military, and the black budget have funded and deployed such work since the late 1930s. And also the German, Canadian, British French, Italian and Russian governments.
It’s just that no one is really willing to seriously fund projects like this. They lack imagination. Most people think of this as the stuff of pure-fantasy, and cannot see the practical applications of things like warp theory.
I hope I get to see an warp capable ship before I die.
“Critical velocity” represents the maximum limit of sub-light speed. Once you exceed critical velocity, you have crossed the “warp threshold”, begin travelling at superluminal speeds, and, assuming the warp bubble holds, you enter warp space and can continue to accelerate up to Warp 10.
Warp 10, I’ve been told, represents infinite velocity, and is only available through Transwarp Drive.
I am referring to THE WORLD OF STAR TREK, by David Gerrod (“The Trouble With Tribbles”). THe warp-bubble calculations of Alcubierre agree with STAR TREK, and the fantastic energy necessary is supplied by professor Searl’s SEG. We can DO this!

It’s actually an bad idea to keep it an secret.

@Beamshipcaptain Yes, we can. And we should. Now.

This was Warp 1 as far as I remember, although before the jump he said: “Approaching light speed”
Dr. Cochrane: “We’re in critical velocity!”
So, it might have been Warp 2.

Warp 1 is the speed of light. Warp 2 is 4 times the speed of light. Warp 3 is 16-times c, etc.
